West Java AP2SI Consistently Monitors and Supports KHDPK

Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled “Quovadis Hutan Jawa” organized by Pikiran Rakyat and the Forum for Saving the Java Forest (FPHJ).

 

The event was held at the Pikiran Rakyat Hall, Jalan Asia Afrika No. 77 Bandung, on Tuesday (19/7/2022).

 

The Chairman of the West Java Indonesian Social Forestry Management Association (AP2SI), Dedi Junaedi explained that this FGD discussed the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 287/2022 concerning Forest Areas Under Special Management (KHDPK), related to the transfer of management of forest areas in Perhutani's work area.


Where 1.1 million hectares of land was transferred to local community groups forest area where each member gets the right to work for 35 years   

"KHDPK is a form of legitimacy (recognition) of the state towards its people to improve the economic level and build ecology, in protected forest areas and production forests on Java Island, especially in West Java," said Dedi Junaedi, Chairman of AP2SI West Java, one of the resource persons for the FGD event.

 

AP2SI West Java expressed its full support for the Ministry of Environment and Forestry's policy on KHDPK in the form of Government Regulation (PP) No. 23 of 2021 concerning forestry and Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 287 concerning KHDPK, Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 09 of 2021 concerning Social Forestry.

 

"We, AP2SI, express our full support for the regulation issued by the Ministry of KLHK, we consider it the best step taken by the Ministry of KLHK," concluded Dedi.
