Bandung, 3/2/2023. Community efforts together with supporting institutions for the recognition and protection of community-managed areas in terms of power, governance, production, and consumption systems, one of which is through social forestry. After the issuance of the Social Forestry Forest Utilization Permit/IPHPS by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to KTH Mulya Tani on September 4, 2017 number SK.4616/MENLHK-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/9/2017 in conjunction with SK.3868/Menlhk-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/7/2017 with an area of 1,144 Ha covering Ibun Village and Neglasari Village, Ibun District and Nagrak Village, Dukuh Village, Cikawao Village, Sukarame Village, and Mandalahaji Village, Pacet District, Bandung Regency.
The quality utilization of the IPHPS area continues to be carried out by the community, one of which is by building collaboration with the Bukit Rakutak Sauyunan Social Forestry Business Group, AP2SI, and WALHI for the management of coffee commodities through the construction of a coffee production house which began in December 2022 - January 2023.
Amir, who is the head of KUPS Bukit Rakutak Sauyunan said "coffee plants are commodities that have long been cultivated and managed by the community in the Rakutak Kamojang land area of Bandung Regency and coffee has been proven to be one of the economic, social, and environmental supporters for the community in this area. So with the inauguration of the existing coffee production house, it is hoped that it can also help the community, especially members of the KTH Mulyatani social forestry group to get more value and benefits and can improve welfare"
The same thing was also emphasized by Roni Usman, who is the general chairman of AP2SI, "the inauguration of the coffee production house carried out directly by the community and the supporting institutions is an extraordinary hard work and should be appreciated and the hope for the future through this coffee production house will further solidify the work to realize sustainable forests, prosperous people"
Meiki as the executive director of WALHI West Java reminded "us together and the community, especially members of the KPS KTH Mulyatani, to continue to strengthen knowledge and fair and sustainable economic practices because in the midst of the current ecological crisis, we must be able to answer it with solutions in the form of non-extractive economic business practices so that this is also expected through this group can be an example and even a champion for other community groups."
