Cibereum Lebak Village Government and AP2SI, Strengthen the Makmur Lestari Forest Farmer Group
Lebak, February 25, 2023. Since the issuance of SK. 1888/MENLHK-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/3/2019 concerning the Recognition and Protection of Forestry Partnerships (KULIN KK) covering an area of 455 Ha to the Makmur Lestari forest farmer group (KTH) located in Cibeureum Village, Ciijaku District, Lebak Regency on March 18, 2019, until now the management and members of this forest farmer group have continued to strive to carry out land management and utilization in the area that has received legal management. Support from the Cibereum village government to continue to strengthen the management of the community-managed area with social forestry in the Makmur Lestari forest farmer group also continues to be carried out.
The head of Cibereum village, Jaro Mamam, said, "Our village area is 1,768 hectares, 801 TP3T is a forest area, but strangely, we have been like dead chickens in a rice barn, this is because we do not have access to management in the forest area, but after there was a legal decree in the form of a KK Kulin Decree, in order to strengthen the management of the KTH institution, the village government has issued a Village Regulation on Environmental Protection and support for activities to strengthen the management of institutions, areas, and businesses for KTH Makmur Lestari."
At the routine meeting between KTH administrators, Village Government, and AP2SI today (24/02/2023) Mukri Friatna, who is the head of the organizational division of the AP2SI National Management Board, said "this meeting activity is to reflect on each other and plan future work, one of which is that the KTH Makmur Lestari administrators agreed to prepare and propose a request to the Minister of Environment and Forestry for the transformation of the current SK Kulin KK. This transformation was carried out because of the policy of forest areas with special management/KHDPK for social forestry," he said.
Mr. Umed, who is the Head of KTH Makmur Lestari, also explained "the challenge until now is that most of the KulinKK land has not been managed and utilized optimally, but we from the KTH management continue to gradually but concretely overcome this existing challenge to have sufficient provisions as stated in Articles 100 to 155 in the LHK Regulation No. 9 of 2021 for KTH, so that support and cooperation for strengthening institutions such as strengthening the capacity of KPS management and the preparation and implementation of business plans that are built can be more progressive, besides that of course it is also very much needed," he concluded.
