The Indonesian Social Forestry Management Association (AP2SI) successfully held a dialogue and outreach entitled "Concepts, Procedures and Approval Mechanisms for Social Forestry Management in the KHDPK and Perum Perhutani Areas". This activity, which was carried out on May 8 2024 at the Igirklanceng Village Hall, Sirampog District, Brebes Regency, Central Java, involved 3 local Forest Farmer Groups (KTH), including KTH Berkah Tani Igirklanceng, KTH Slamet Maju Bersama Dawuhan, and KTH Sawangan Maju Berkah Sigedong .
As a result of this dialogue and outreach, the relevant authorities continue to strive to provide assistance to the community in order to achieve legality. The aim is so that people who depend on forests for their livelihoods can immediately obtain legal certainty in carrying out their business activities. In this way, it is hoped that the goals of social forestry for sustainable forests and prosperous communities can be realized.
The Forest Farmers Group (KTH) community itself hopes that this legality can be issued as soon as possible. This is so that the regulations or agreements that have been submitted previously can be implemented immediately in accordance with the mutual agreement. "Our hope as KTH is that the community will immediately receive its status and legality, so that we can agree on and implement the regulations that have been submitted together in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations," said Wajri as Chairman of the KTH Berkah Tani Igirklanceng Association.
While waiting for the legality to be issued, Wawan Tri Setyo as a Community Forestry Instructor (PKSM) said that currently his party is trying to educate the public to carry out planting and plant care activities. "Of course, while waiting for the legality to be issued, we are trying to educate the public to carry out a planting activity, be it perennials or MPTS, or perhaps take care of the plants that have been planted, especially for perennials."
In line with this, Nadirin as Chair of KTH Sawangan Maju Berkah Sigedong also said that currently his party has plans to carry out reforestation (replanting) of deforested forests. "As for the specific plan, KTH Sawangan wants to reforest the deforested forest so that it returns to normal," he said.
AP2SI as the institution that initiated the approval process continues to strive to accompany the community in realizing the noble ideals of Social Forestry for sustainable forests and prosperous communities. Although there is still a possibility that these approvals may not yet become part of the KHDPK-PS because the process is quite long.
"This is a pre-permit, AP2SI is an institution that initiates the approval process. "Even though it is not certain that these approvals will become KHDPK-PS, because we have to look again at whether the prospective area for this proposed application is within KHDPK-PS or not, because we also have to wait for the KHDPK-PS management plan in Java," explained Arif. as Head of BPSKL Java Region.
However, Arif said that his party would continue to collaborate with AP2SI in the future. According to him, social forestry in general does not only work by involving one institution, but also with other institutions.
"So in essence, this is a good collaboration with AP2SI for the future. "We must work together and be good partners for all parties, including regional, district, provincial governments and other ministerial institutions."
