TIMESINDONESIA, WONOSOBO – Community Empowerment Network (JKPM) and the Indonesian Social Forestry Management Association (AP2SI) together Wonosobo Regency Government Focus Group Discussion (FGD) regarding the development of tourism potential and creative economy based on crafts bamboo.
This event was held on Friday, (28/2/2025), at the Wonosobo Regency Government Office. This event was attended by the Wonosobo Regent's Assistance Team, Assistant Regional Secretary, Expert Staff of the Regent, and representatives from various related agencies, including the Tourism and Culture Agency, Agriculture and Fisheries Agency, Community and Village Empowerment Agency, Trade and UMKM Agency, Bappeda, and the Sapuran Sub-district Head.
The Head of the Wonosobo Regent's Assistance Team, Idham Cholid, welcomed this initiative as a collaborative step between the government and civil society in regional development.
He emphasized that synergy between parties is very necessary to optimize the economic and tourism potential based on local wisdom, especially in the bamboo craft sector.
"This innovative step requires cooperation from all elements," said Idham Cholid.

He further added that this approach could be a strategic solution in improving community welfare in Wonosobo Regency.
"Hopefully this approach will be a strategic solution, after all it is for the welfare of the Wonosobo community too," added Idham Cholid.
This FGD aims to obtain views, suggestions, and input from the government as the executive to identify strategic issues from environmental, social, and economic aspects regarding the potential for tourism and creative economy based on bamboo crafts in three villages in Sapuran District.
"This event is mainly to gather input and suggestions from the government. So that we can identify various strategic issues. Especially bamboo crafts in three villages. Rimpak, Banyumudal, and Ngadikerso," said Tommy from JKPM.
Meanwhile, Tyo, who is also from JKPM, said that the development of tourism potential and the creative economy based on bamboo crafts is based on three main objectives.
“First, contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
"Second, support efforts to reduce extreme poverty in the region. Third, revitalize infrastructure and natural resource management to support the development of community-based agribusiness and tourism so that the FGD results can strengthen existing assessment documents," said Tyo in his presentation.
The Wonosobo Regency Government, through various agencies present, also provided input on opportunities and challenges in terms of regulation, management, infrastructure, and markets for tourism and the creative economy based on bamboo crafts from the three villages.
Through this FGD, it is expected that concrete steps will be realized so that local communities can obtain greater economic benefits from existing local potential. Moreover, these steps also help maintain a sustainable environment. (*)
