The WALHI Adil Lestari Cooperative conducted a study on the development of local community products which was held on February 24-25, 2024 at the Ngudi Makmur Forest Farmer Group, Malang Regency. The activity, which was also supported by the local enablers (TLE) and the Indonesian social forestry management association (AP2SI), focused on being able to read and identify together the opportunities for developing business products that have been owned and run by the Ngudi Makmur forest farmer group so that it is hoped that this study can be a basis for organizations in intervening to strengthen business practices in existing communities.
It was Bambang Catur as the chairman of the WALHI Adil Lestari Cooperative who in this activity became the pioneer of its implementation. Catur revealed that the activity containing this study was actually more focused on the development or upgrading of the tourist area in the southern part of Malang Regency.
"We, together with the local community, namely KTH Ngudimakmur and the Ngudi Makmur Sukses cooperative, are implementing a business development pattern for the coastal tourism area, where in its implementation we focus on material assets, knowledge and social accurately to provide benefits to the KTH itself," said Catur.
In addition to what is explained above, Catur also revealed that the development pattern in collaboration with KTH Ngudimakmur has been implemented on Banyu Selok Beach and Ngentup Beach. Furthermore, the follow-up plan is applied by upgrading the general tourist area into an eco-tourism area in the business planning design. This has been reflected in the use of the entrance ticket function as well as toilets and cleanliness that have been upgraded properly. The hope for the future, in addition to this, will also be developed regarding several existing culinary delights to make them more modern and attractive.
Apart from focusing on local tourism development patterns, the WALHI Adil Makmur cooperative will also focus on development related to studies and training which will later collaborate with several KTHs in other locations. Bambang Catur in an interview also explained "This cooperative is actually used for long-term investment in the form of trials and training for KTH development and tourism or other things that can be beneficial for both parties who are working together," he said.
At the end of the session, Bambang Catur also expressed hope that in the future all forms of positive cooperation with various parties will continue to run well and smoothly.
