KTH Mulya Sari and AP2SI Banten Management Coordinate with Section II of the Java PSKL Center

Bogor, December 20, 2024 – To improve the effectiveness and implementation of obligations regarding social forestry management, KTH Mulyasari, the legal holder of access to the Minister of Environment and Forestry Decree Number SK.8057/MENLHK-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/8/2023, is committed to implementing area planning which includes marking the boundaries of the management area and dividing the share of cultivation fairly among members. This step not only provides legal certainty over management rights, but also reduces the potential for land conflicts, strengthens collaboration between the community and the government, and paves the way for more participatory and sustainable forest management.

The Head of KTH Mulyasari, Mardi, said, "We from the KTH Mulyasari management together with the Banten Social Forestry Management Association (AP2SI), today visited the office of Section II of the PSKL Center for Java to conduct an audience and consult in order to obtain suggestions and input related to the existing activity plan. Support and suggestions from the government are important to ensure the results of the implementation of this activity in order to realize fair and sustainable forest management," he said.

In addition to area planning, another strategic step is to prepare a Social Forestry Management Plan (RKPS) and an Annual Work Plan (RKT). The RKPS is a guide for the next 10 years, while the RKT details annual operations to ensure that all activities are in line with the principles of community-based forest management. This preparation actively involves KTH members, increasing their capacity in planning forest management that is harmonious with social, economic, and environmental aspects.

The Head of AP2SI Banten who participated in this meeting, the AP2SI Baten Provincial Management Board strongly supports the proactive steps taken by the KTH Mulyasari management in carrying out social forestry management activities as regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 4 of 2023. "Collaboration between the KTH Mulyasari community, the government, and supporting institutions such as AP2SI is the key to achieving fair and sustainable forest management," said Ja'i.
