Surabaya, January 6, 2025* – The Management of the Sumber Agung Forest Farmer Group (KTH), led by Mr. Timbul S. Hidayat as Co-Chairman, together with Ach Rozani from the Indonesian Social Forestry Management Association (AP2SI), held a coordination and consultation meeting with Mr. Ruhiat, Head of Section I of the Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership Center (PSKL) Java. The meeting took place at the Office of Section I of the PSKL Center for Java, Surabaya.
This coordination and consultation aims to discuss the implementation plan for area arrangement activities (marking outer boundaries and share of cultivation) as well as the preparation of the Social Forestry Management Plan (RKPS) and Annual Work Plan (RKT) in the Sumber Agung KTH, Claket Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency. The activity is planned to take place from January to April 2025, as part of an effort to fulfill the responsibilities and obligations stated in the seventh paragraph of the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number: SK.5638/MENLHK-PSKL/PKPS/PSL.0/6/2023 and Permen LHK No. 4 of 2023 Article 29.
In this meeting, the Head of Section I of the PSKL Center for Java, Mr. Ruhiat, provided responses, suggestions, and strategic input related to the plan to be implemented. It was emphasized that the Sumber Agung KTH needs to immediately implement Social Forestry management activities as mandated, which include: Area Arrangement with Marking of outer boundaries and share of cultivation for group members, Preparation of Plan Documents including the Social Forestry Management Plan (RKPS) and Annual Work Plan (RKT), and Business Development by Increasing group capacity in community-based forest product management.
The Head of KTH Sumber Agung, Mr. Timbul S. Hidayat, said that this activity is a strategic step to optimize the potential of social forestry areas while providing economic, social, and environmental benefits for the surrounding community.
Ach Rozani from AP2SI added, “AP2SI will continue to accompany the entire process of activities initiated by the management and members of KTH Sumber Agung, including providing technical training and assistance in managing social forestry. Hopefully, this success can be a good practice in managing Social Forestry.”
This coordination and consultation step confirms a shared commitment to realizing fair and sustainable community-based forest governance, in line with government policy to support the welfare of local communities through the Social Forestry program.
